Ruth is an experienced Registered Nurse (17 years) and currently works as a Public Health Nurse serving seniors, perinatal moms, dads, and young children for the Healthy Families program in El Dorado County. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in University Studies from the University of Taos, NM, with a minor in Peace Studies (2010), a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from West Coast University (2019), and a Master’s degree as a Nurse Educator (2020). She served as a founding Board Member of the non-profit Carnelian Center promoting holistic, affordable healthcare in New Mexico for 8 years. Ruth and her husband, Mike, have two lovely adult children, enjoy gardening, traveling, and are devoted to serving their community and improving population health.  Ruth is very grateful to be a contributing member of BWF!!
